If you are planning to transition from GA4 to Mixpanel or Amplitude, then you might want to backfill your data so that you can have historical data in Mixpanel or Amplitude.
Both these tools allow you to backfill the data, but here are a few differences you should keep in mind.
Backfill from GA4 Data in BigQuery
Both Amplitude and Mixpanel have the option to backfill the data from BigQuery. While Amplitude allows all the plans (including free) to have the BigQuery backfill option, in Mixpanel, you need to be at a higher level of the paid plan.
Deleting Wrong BackFill Data
Mixpanel has an easy option to delete the backfill with one click, while Amplitude does not have any option to delete the data once it is imported. So you need to be 100% sure about what your data will look like before you import it into Amplitude. On the other hand, you can easily make modifications to imported data in Mixpanel, delete the old one, and try it again.
Should You Use Mixpanel or Amplitude?
Well, that depends on your business requirements. If you are deciding which tool is better for you, then let's discuss. You can reach out to us at support@optizent.com or fill out the contact us form.
