If you are looking to move a Google Tag Manager container from one account to another then there is no direct transfer method. However in this post I will show you how you can do that in a few simple steps.
Here are the steps:
- Export the container that you want to move to another account. This will create a .json file with all of your tags, triggers and variables.
- Create a new container in the other account. This container will have another GTM ID, so keep that in mind.
- Now import the .json file into the new container. This is the files that you got when you exported your container in step 1.
- Now all your tags, triggers, variables are imported into the new container in the new account.
- Verify the imported data.
- If everything looks good then publish the new container.
- Place the new container code on your site and remove the old one.
